¡Hola! My name is Briana Hawkins, and I am the proud new principal of Mountain View Elementary School. For the past two years, I have served the community in a different capacity- as a parent. Both of my children attend the school; James is in second grade and Teo is in kindergarten, both in the Dual Immersion program. 

Before coming to work in Claremont, I have served as an Assistant Principal at both the middle school and high school levels. I have also been an Instructional Coach at a K-12 school, and taught English, Spanish, and English Language Development at the middle school level. I am incredibly excited about my first opportunity to be a principal and work exclusively with elementary-age children! 

A proud product of bilingual education myself, I believe strongly in our Dual Immersion program. I received my Bachelor’s degree from the University of Arizona in Psychology and Linguistics, with a minor in Italian. I have two Master's degrees in Linguistics from UCLA and in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from Cal State Northridge. I love language! 

I live in Claremont with my husband Derek, two sons, and two dogs. We enjoy running, hiking, and going out to eat in the community.
